In 2017, the Astros won their first World Series title. The following year they won in excess of 100 games once more, turning into the main group with back to back 100+ win seasons.
In 2019, upon returning to the World Series, the Astros lost seven games to the Washington Nationals.
The team clinched the AL West crown with a 95–67 record in 2021, marking their seventh division title in team history. The Astros defeated Boston in the ALCS to advance to their third World Series in five years, but ultimately fell to Atlanta in 6 games.
