Cody Johnson is an American country artist from Abbott, Texas. In 2011, he won the Texas Regional Music Award for New Mail Vocalist of the Year.
Johnson’s live shows have created a reputation as some of the best energy in the Texas music scene and have solidified Cody Johnson Live as staples on multiple Texas country and festival lineups through the years.
In 2019, Johnson made history at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Bernard James Freeman, also known professionally as Bun B, is a popular American rapper, actor and songwriter. Raised in Port Arthur, Texas, Bun B embarked on his rap career in the late 1980s as a teenager.
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo announced the joining of Bun B’s performance, known as
Bun B’s H-Town Takeover as one of the newest additions to the event for Black Heritage Day.
“Celebrating Black Heritage Day with many of our city’s own superstars should make for an epic night for Houstonians and Rodeo fans alike,” stated Rodeo President and CEO Chris Boleman.
His first release, “River Temple,” was produced by Lloyd Maines and a limited 500 vinyl release of it sold out on Valentine’s Day in 2014.
With a résumé full of successes, Parker McCollum is making his mark as one of Texas’ well-known country artists.
Chris Boleman, Rodeo President and CEO, officially welcomed McCollum’s debut at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Strait began his musical career in the mid-1970s, signing with MCA Records in 1981 after penning “Unwound,” which became his first #1 hit.
He is affectionately known as the “King of Country” and continues to be one of the most popular recording artists for the most number-one songs in music history, with career record sales of $70 million in the US.
Strait’s first Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo appearance took place in 1983, and since then, he’s made more than 20 appearances, with over one million fans!
